These recordings are recorded in my own home and mixed by a friend, or come to you straight from a phone mic. They are not intended to be considered on par with commercially released mood music, but are presented as songwriter demos of thought provoking folk songs.
This song is my reaction after hearing a preacher say: “Christianity isn’t cool. The world is cool. So if the world ever thinks Christianity is cool, then Christianity has become the world.”
Lyrics
I’m a wandering soldier, Behind the line
When I act like I am, I’m attacked every time.
I learned that I lose, When I walk their way
Until I understood, Alone is OK.
The stars in the sky Are becoming defined,
As I move from the group To the Montana line.
Cuz when the darkness it comes, Steals the sun on the sly,
The stars of Montana Stand out in the sky.
They stare at the station, Like I am the outcast
But I chose my own road, A long time in the past.
They don’t need to come, They could stay in their state,
So I’m floored by the fury My face can create.
Well the stars in the sky Are becoming defined,
As I move from the mob To the Montana line.
Cuz as the darkness sneaks in And steals the sun on the sly,
The stars of Montana Stand out in the sky.
Oh, but stars don’t mean nothing They’re just a mirror,
Of this world where we walk, The end getting nearer.
Cuz as the darkness gains ground And steals the sun on the sly,
The stars of Montana Stand out in the sky.
Yes as the darkness gains ground And steals the sun on the sly,
The stars of Montana Stand out in the sky.
