From the recording EPic
I wrote this song after leaving Christianity, wondering what it was that God meant to me. In Luke 17:5-10, Yahshua’s disciples ask him to increase their faith. He replies: “Do what you are supposed to do, and assurance will grow by observing the results.”
Lyrics
In the essence of the leaves, Learning how they live and breathe.
Warm wind blows right thru me, So I know, what Nature needs.
The substance of the expected, arrives ahead of the objective.
When the Root is respected: The rows I hoe are protected.
When I see my green a growin, in dirt
I know the way I’m goin will work.
As compost turns to crops, and the cycle never stops,
I find I can rely on the Earth.
Belief alone became enough, creating crops that grow corrupt
Sprouts are drying in the dust, entangled by the underbrush.
Rules are now the route to right. Fights allowed to be the Light.
But faith thats never fertilized, is killed before the crop arrives.
Makes me wonder what the Word is worth?
Are we taught to trust God, or just church?
Cuz wheat that won’t grow deep, may as well be weeds
And the fruit from off their farm, is cursed.
When I feel my green a growin, in dirt
I learn the way of life, in the Earth.
So I keep seeking out the seed. Relearning what He needs.
For I find by farming these fields: what works.
Oh the faith for a farmer, it flows from the Father
And I find by following God, He works.
