From the recording EPic
I wrote this one after hearing about the modern French Revolution. Google could not tell me any details about the movement, but from what my friend said it occurred to me the participants were less interested in changing the system, than changing their position within the system. They merely wanted more people inferior to them and less people superior to them.
Lyrics
Lets trade our cabin for a wagon to the West.
Build a home on our own happiness.
Instead of follow the herd, lets let our hearts be heard.
Where the land decides, who lives and who dies.
Cuz they’re leading lives of loud desperation!
It’s a hurried dance of worried domination!
They think the problems their place,
But its the whole social race,
When riches are revered above the rest.
So let’s wander in our wagon to the West
The only way we’re ever gonna win
Is quit playing in the same game as them.
Instead of paying for permission in rank and recognition,
Let’s learn to listen, to whispers within.
While they’re leading lives of loud desperation!
And there ain’t no way we’re ever gonna change them!
But I’m sick of sitting in line,
To agree that everyone’s fine,
When anger is awarded on the chest,
So let’s wander in our wagon to the West.
(and) carve our hearts in far off peaks.
Catch our fish from crystal creeks.
The thrill of the thrive, as I strive to survive.
And fuse with you, to see ourselves thru.
The thrill of the thrive, as we strive to survive.
Where the land decides, who lives and who dies.
